It is run by Selina Gittins, who sources,  paints and renovates  antique country furniture. Finished pieces are displayed with smaller vintage curios,  alongside contemporary pendant  lightshades, in an eclectic mix of contemporary country syle.

We now have the where-with-all for you to check out what’s in stock, without having to drive out. We try and keep a selection of different pieces, which you can see in the categories section on the right. Apart from the Innermost lightshades, which we keep in stock, pretty much everything else is a one-off antique or vintage piece. Have a browse through the “sold ” section to get a feel for the kind of pieces we choose. If there is something that you like, we can try and source a similar piece.

These unique paints, in 27 decorative and Historical colours, have been developed specifically for painting furniture, floors and walls. It is a soft, matt paint, for a look like limewash ,  which when dry is finished with a protective  layer of  wax, giving it the beautiful mellow patinated look of old French and Gustavian furniture.

The MAGICAL thing about this paint is that it will stick to pretty much any surface - waxed and varnished wood, metal, matt plastics, terracotta WITHOUT the need to sand or prime!

Incredibly safe and easy to use:  water-based, low odour,  and quick to dry (with low VOC’s so it’s also good for the environment!) Just paint straight on for instant and exciting results. It can be layered  in complementary colour combinations, sanded and distressed and mixed to create your own unique colours.

AS A WASH ON WOOD - thin down the paint for a “limed oak” effect on floorboards or furniture. FLOOR PAINT - paint on concrete or wood and varnish with  water based floor varnish. GARDENS - use on walls, wood, metal, matt plastic or terracotta and leave to harden overnight before exposing to rain. No need to varnish or wax.

FURNITURE PAINTING SERVICE

We also provide a service painting/customising clients furniture; so if you have an old  inherited piece that could be up-dated or something that you like the shape of  but not the finish - too dark or too “pine” or damaged in some way- then it could be given a new lease of life with some of the paint colours used in the shop.
